true for Kelvin Armstrong. Being a small town guy from Irmo, South Carolina, Kelvin is breaking every mold in today’s music and redefining the music landscape, hit by hit. “Rock, Country, and R&B in a bowl” is the phrase his fans describe the soulful music; you can’t box him in.
Kelvin’s sound is inspired by his father who played the tunes of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Dixie Hummingbirds and Curtis Mayfield smoothly on the guitar. That sound can be heard resonating through Kelvin’s 1 July 31, 2015 made its debut with its leading single “Peaches and Cream.” The release of his single spiraled through the grapevine, taking Armstrong’s music career to higher heights.
With the release of his EP, Kelvin has been in high demand. So high that he was one selected out of thousands of artists worldwide to spearhead the launch of WIX Music Campaign alongside Grammy Award winning artists Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. He has been featured in various print media such as the Free Times, Jasper Magazine, and The Double Scoop, seen on The Jeffrey Lampkin Show, and been on WUSC 90.5 FM, Hot 103.9 Exclusively Indie, WXRY 99.3 FM, and Independent Mondays with Vonyetta of Power 98FM. Kelvin recently collaborated with Grammy nominated violinist Josh Vietti on the song Best Things in Life which was featured as the hit single on the Play to Win album and recently finished his multi –city Over the Edge Tour, with shows in Charlotte, NC, Columbia SC, Atlanta, GA, Birmingham AL, and Jackson MS.
