MEET LANA (ELANA PURVIS):
Drawing inspiration from the timeless eras of music that continue to influence her sound, Lana is an up-and-coming Jazz/R&B artist with a voice—and a message—that stands out. She’s been singing since before she could fully form words, and her love for music has always been rooted in the way it makes her feel and the freedom it gives her to express herself.
Originally from South Carolina, Lana moved to Nashville to attend Belmont University, where she studies Commercial Voice with an emphasis in Music Business.
A natural performer, Lana has built an impressive résumé onstage. She recently won Belmont’s prestigious award for their annual R&B/Hip Hop Showcase and performs as a member of the university’s premier ensemble, Phoenix. Before college, she attended Berklee College of Music’s exclusive Five-Week Jazz Intensive in Boston, studying with top vocalists and musicians from around the world. She also trained at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, where she toured Italy and performed in Florence, Venice, and Rome (Vatican City).
Now a popular presence in the Nashville music scene, Lana is writing and performing original music shaped by the intricate musicianship of Stevie Wonder and Erykah Badu, along with the infectious, feel-good energy of Earth, Wind & Fire and Lizzo. Her funky chords and compelling lyrics—exploring love, loss, and women’s empowerment—are both uplifting and irresistibly fun, inspiring listeners to get up and move with her.
Lana’s artistic superpower is her authenticity. Her mission: to always stay true to herself. Authentic, empowering, and full of energy—Lana’s here to make you move.
